The Method
A Structured Approach to Long Term Investing
Investing should be deliberate, disciplined, and grounded in business fundamentals.
The objective is not short-term trading. It is long term ownership of quality companies.
The Foundation
Every investor benefits from starting with broad market exposure.
Index investing provides diversification, reduces complexity, and allows participation in long term economic growth.
It builds discipline and patience.
This foundation matters.
Focus and Concentration
Broad index funds spread capital across hundreds or thousands of companies.
A focused portfolio concentrates capital into a smaller number of carefully selected businesses.
Concentration allows conviction.
Conviction allows disciplined capital allocation.
The aim is not activity.
It is intentional ownership.
Business Selection – The VAFD Framework
Stock selection within UFW20 follows my proprietary VAFD methodology.
VAFD stands for:
V – Value Investing
Identifying strong businesses trading at a discount to their intrinsic worth.
A – Analyst Ratings
Monitoring upward revisions and changes in analyst sentiment, which often signal improving expectations.
F – Financial Strength
Assessing revenue growth, profitability, cash flow, and balance sheet quality.
D – Dividend Sustainability
Evaluating dividend sustainability and capital return discipline as indicators of business strength.
Each potential holding is reviewed through this framework. It provides consistency in decision making and reduces emotional investing. This is structured stock selection, not speculation and my UFW20 portfolio is transparent and accountable.
I have a full training course on my VAFD stock selection process within the UFW community. The course is called the “Wealth Beyond the Index” program as it teaches students my proprietary stock selection process called VAFD. This is optional for students who want to take their learning further.

UFW20 Portfolio
